A unified inbox to chill your notifications
Inbox & Chill is a macOS menu bar app that pulls the things that actually need you out of your most important apps & services.
No more bouncing between apps to keep tabs on everything. Everything in one delightfully navigable menu bar app.
Supports 10 sources (+ more to come)
Linear
Mentions, assignments, comments — with real remote snooze.
GitHub
Review requests, mentions, assignments.
Slack
Mentions, unreads, and an emoji-reaction save for later.
Sentry
Unresolved issues nobody has triaged yet.
Apple Mail
Flagged messages, across every account Mail knows.
ntfy
Push over a topic's WebSocket.
JSON feeds
Any URL that returns a JSON array.
Terminal & coding agents
Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or a long build telling you it's done.
Apple Reminders
Reminders from your lists — check them off without leaving the app.
Todoist
Tasks from your projects — check them off without leaving the app.

Good to know
- Tailored for each source
- Snoozing a Linear item snoozes it in Linear, not just here. Terminal and coding agent items group by session. Archiving an Apple Mail item marks the message read.
- Customizable badge counts
- The menu bar can show a total count, a high-signal-only count, a plain dot, or nothing. Every source decides for itself what counts as high signal, and every source can opt out of the badge entirely.
- Not powered by AI
- Don't miss an important notification because your agent didn't catch it. Built for folks who want to see & review everything quickly, themselves.
- Open source
- The code is on GitHub under the MIT licence. Downloading it here gets you a signed, notarized build that keeps itself up to date.
- Nothing leaves your Mac
- There's no account and no server. Every credential you paste stays in your login keychain, and the sources you connect are read from your machine.
- Done isn't gone
- Done items go to a searchable 90-day archive and then purge themselves. Pinned items survive everything until you unpin them.
Who made this
I'm Brandon. I'm a product manager, musician, and builder of small tools for people who'd rather not hand their attention to whoever's optimizing for it.
Inbox & Chill was made to help me worry less about all the things sending me notifications and focus a bit more.
Special thanks to Miguel for contributing and everyone who's tried out the beta and shared feedback!
